OUR TRUSTEES
Audrey Kona is a support worker in a women’s refuge, supporting women and children who have fled domestic abuse to rebuild their lives through emotional support, practical guidance, and safeguarding. She has a background in psychology and is currently training in counselling to deepen her ability to provide trauma-informed support. She is passionate about safeguarding and ensuring vulnerable people feel safe, heard, and empowered. Her motivation for being a trustee comes from a strong belief in the Church working alongside the wider community to support those in need through both compassion and practical action.
Martyn Layzell (Chair) is Vicar of St Mark’s, Battersea Rise. Prior to this he was Associate Vicar at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) where he joined as a curate in 2010. He is married to Emily and they have four sons.
Margo Martin is the global leader of the data, insights and CRM teams at BBC Studios. This includes data analytics, data science, audience research, audience planning and CRM. She brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role, having worked in research and data in research agencies as well as clients, in the UK and the US, in media and more widely in consumer products and service sectors. Margo feels passionately about listening to all voices, particularly people who are often marginalised from mainstream conversations. In this context she is very aware of young voices and the struggle for employment which is prevalent at the moment. She was introduced to Spear initially through St. Marks Church where she is a member, and has been a passionate supporter of the outstanding work of Spear for many years. Equally Margo believes in championing people who face hardship at any given point and believes strongly that, whilst the goal remains to end the need for food banks, for the moment Wandsworth Foodbank provides a vital lifeline for many.
Christopher Payne (Co-chair and acting Treasurer) is a Senior Underwriter in Political Violence at Chubb. His role involves risk analysis, project management, client engagement, people management. Chris has been involved in the Junction Community Trust since he graduated from Manchester University in 2014. He grew up in the Clapham/South London area and is part of St Marks church, so he has a huge passion for the local community and making sure everyone has opportunity to reach their potential and be connected to good and loving people. Building relationships with people is one of his passions and Chris will always want to get the most out of the people he engages with and make them feel known and valued (whether that is with volunteers, recipients of our work, staff, donors or trustees). Chris believes Wandsworth Foodbank and Spear are making a significant difference and long term change in the local community, and feels privileged to bring his personal and professional skills to support Junction Community Trust.

Patricia Thomas-Mayhew has more than 25 years’ experience in luxury fashion: leading teams, managing complex projects, and supporting individuals to grow within creative and technical environments. Throughout her career, she has seen how opportunity and belief can transform someone’s confidence and future direction — and that’s what inspires her about Junction Community Trust. Its mission to help young people gain confidence, access education, and find meaningful employment through Spear, and to offer practical and emotional support through Wandsworth Foodbank, deeply resonates with her own values and journey. Alongside her professional background, she volunteers as a Welcome Team Member at Wandsworth Foodbank and as a Stylist at Suited & Booted, helping men select formal clothing in preparation for interviews, and rebuild self-esteem, offering practical and emotional support to people in need. These experiences have strengthened her belief that confidence and dignity are at the heart of long-term change.
Jonny Walker is a management consultant specialising in major programme governance and technology strategy. He is deeply passionate about social justice, having previously worked for a charity supporting recently homeless adults, and a social enterprise providing employment for prison leavers. As a JCT Trustee, Jonny seeks to combine his professional experience with a focus on compassion - helping ensure JCT is not only well-run and accountable, but deeply rooted in the needs of the people it serves.

OUR ETHOS
JCT is a charity set up by, and linked to, St Mark's Battersea Rise. It is a positive expression of St Mark's Church demonstrating God's love in practical ways. Its aim is to:
• help and support people practically in Clapham Junction and the surrounding areas.
• mobilise St Mark's congregation and local people to make a positive difference in their community.
JCT trustees are motivated by the hope of the message of Jesus Christ and the desire to turn faith into practical action, by living out God's love for people who are in need and marginalised. Based on Jesus' teaching on poverty and injustice, they believe in the Christian values of compassion, justice, honesty, integrity, and care for all people.
JCT serves people and works with organisations of any belief to bring about transformation in the community. We believe that everyone has the right to food on their plate, dignity in society, the chance to develop their skills and find work that pays fairly, and hope for the future; and we advocate for these to become reality.
